My antenna stuff
This page lists a few things concerning antennas.
hwg and short dipoles
The “hwg” concept is a proposal for people with not really enough space for good short-wave antennas. The letters are from German “hängen was geht”, which translates to “hang what fits”. The idea is to do just that (and to live with the consequences).
- The German slides of an online presentation given 2025-01-07 as a PDF file, alternatively as Libreoffice-source. This file has been polished slightly since the original talk, but there’s no significant change in content.
- Jupyter notebook rendered, which explains the concept and has many parameter studies and nice diagramms. I find the formatting of the code pretty crappy (it is what came in the Nikola box without me doing anything), but have not yet found the time to fix it.

Jupyter notebook, source if you
want to play with it yourself or want a reading experience with
better formatting. This
hwg-antenna
notebook is also used in the antenna_simulation_driver project’s showcase. There, the formatting problem and what you can do about it is explained in somewhat more detail.
